Steps on How to Program Your Beam Universal Remote

For TV Direct Programming

Follow the steps below:

1. Find the Right Code for Your TV Brand:

  • Start by locating the specific code for your TV brand. Refer to the list of Beam universal remote codes above and find the one that corresponds to your TV brand.
  • Copy the 4-digit code or write it down, as you will need to enter it into the remote.

2. Initiate Programming Mode:

  • Hold your Beam remote control close to your TV.
  • Look for the ‘Program’ button on your remote and press and hold it.
  • Keep holding until a small LED light on the remote lights up, indicating that the remote is ready to be programmed.

3. Select the TV Component:

  • After the LED lights up, release the ‘Program’ button.
  • Now, press the ‘TV’ button on your remote. This is the component button that tells your remote which device you are programming.
  • The LED light will blink once, confirming that your remote is now in programming mode.

4. Enter the TV Brand Code:

  • With the remote in programming mode, use the number buttons on the remote to enter the 4-digit code you noted earlier for your TV brand.
  • If you enter the correct code, the LED light will stop blinking. This indicates that the code has been accepted.

5. Test the Remote:

  • To confirm that the programming was successful, press the ‘Power’ button on your Beam remote.
  • If your TV responds (turns off or on), congratulations! You’ve successfully programmed your Beam remote to your TV.
  • If the TV doesn’t respond, double-check the code you entered and repeat the process. Sometimes it may take a couple of attempts to get the right code.

And there you have it! Your Beam universal remote control should now be programmed to operate your TV.

If you encounter any difficulties, make sure to review the steps.

For Programming to Another Remote/Mirroring

This method is for syncing your Beam remote with another IR (InfraRed) remote – otherwise called mirroring.

Follow the following steps:

1. Start the Programming Mode:

  • Find the ‘Program’ button on your Beam remote.
  • Press and hold this button. Keep holding until you see a small LED light turn on. This light is usually located near the top of the remote.

2. Select the Device to Program:

  • Next, press the button on your Beam remote that corresponds to the device you want to program. For programming a TV, press the ‘TV’ button.
  • Notice that the tiny LED light will blink once, indicating that the remote is ready for programming.

3. Activate Pairing Mode:

  • Now, it’s time to enter the remote into pairing mode. Do this by pressing the number buttons on your Beam remote to enter the code ‘8-8-8-8’.
  • This sequence tells your Beam remote that you’re about to start mirroring another remote.

4. Align the Remotes:

  • Take the original remote control for your TV (or whatever device you’re programming) and your Beam remote and hold them facing each other.
  • The top ends (where the IR sensors are located) should be about 1 inch apart. This close distance is crucial for the remotes to communicate effectively.

5. Mirror the Buttons:

  • On your Beam remote, press the button you wish to program. For instance, if you want to program the ‘Volume Up‘ function, press the ‘Volume Up‘ button on the Beam remote.
  • Hold this button for a few seconds until you hear a beep sound. This beep means the Beam remote is ready to receive the signal from the original remote.

6. Transfer the Command from the Original Remote:

  • Now, press and hold the same button on the original remote – in the example above, the ‘Volume Up‘ button.
  • Keep it pressed until you hear another beep from the Beam remote, confirming that the command has been copied.

7. Save Your Settings:

  • Repeat the above steps for any other buttons you wish to mirror.
  • Once you are done programming all the desired buttons, press the ‘Program’ button on your Beam remote again to exit the programming mode and save your settings.

And that’s it! Your Beam remote should now be able to perform the functions of your original remote.

Remember, this method works with IR (infrared) remotes and is incompatible with RF (radio frequency) or Bluetooth remotes.

If you run into any issues, review each step to ensure everything was done correctly

Limitations in Beam Remote Control Programming

When you program your Beam universal remote to work like another remote (like mirroring the functions of your TV remote), there are some limitations.

Not every button on your Beam remote can copy the functions of buttons on the other remote.

Specifically, buttons like ‘Program,’ ‘Component,’ ‘FAV,’ ‘Custom,’ and ‘Activity‘ buttons on the Beam remote can’t be set to mimic or copy any buttons from your original remote.

In other words, while you can program the Beam remote to do most things that your TV remote does (like changing channels or adjusting the volume), you can’t program it to take over specialized functions assigned to these specific buttons on the Beam remote.

These buttons are designed for specific tasks on the Beam remote and can’t change their function to match the buttons on your original remote.
